CDFC Code of Conduct

Creative Diversity Friends Club (CDFC) is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, neurodiversity, body size, age, race, or religion.

We do not tolerate harassment of members in any form.

This code of conduct outlines our expectations for all CDFC members, whether as a team member or attendee of workshops and services at the CDFC facility. It applies to all CDFC spaces, including our social media channels, our public Facebook group, comments on our website, and at CDFC sponsored or co-sponsored public and private events. 

Our location is a drug and alcohol-free facility.  This includes both indoor and outdoor spaces, anywhere on the property. 

A)     Standards of Behaviour

All members of the community must:

  • Respect and comply with all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws

  • Respect differences in people, their ideas and opinions

  • Treat one another with dignity and respect at all times, especially in disagreements

  • Respect and treat others fairly, regardless of their race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age or disability

  • Show proper care and regard for CDFC property and the property of others

 B)     Prohibited and Unacceptable Activities and Behaviours

  • Use of discriminatory language including but not limited to language that is racist, transphobic, homophobic, ageist or ableist

  • Physical violence or threat of physical violence

  • Any behaviour that endangers the safety of any individual or group

  • Sexual harassment or inappropriate touching

  • Possession, sale or use of alcohol, or illegal substances

  • Arriving at CDFC while drunk or intoxicated

  • Possession or use of weapons

  • Sexual activity and public nudity

  • Theft and vandalism

  • Smoking or vaping of any kind, anywhere on the CDFC property

  • Photographing or filming for other than personal purposes without permission

  • Not following the direction of CDFC Staff

Anyone who violates this code of conduct may be sanctioned or expelled from our spaces at the discretion of CDFC staff, and have their membership revoked.
