Inclusive Peoples Coalition

2SLGBTQ+ Solidarity Meetup
Monday once/month

Take positive action to fight against the rising tide of hate against the 2SLGBTQ+ community and other marginalized folks.  This is a space to gather, share info & strategize, and support each other.

Mar 03 - Apr 07 - May 05 - Jun 02

PDA Support Group

Pathological Demand Avoidance
Saturday once/month

3pm-5pm: Mixed Ages (older kids welcome)
7pm-9pm: Adults only

Informal gathering for those living with PDA and the folks who care for them. Together we will explore resources, share stories and make connections with others who "get" it.

Mar 08 - Apr 12 - May 10 - June 14

Garden Volunteers

Wednesdays 11am - 2pm
Sundays 11am - 3pm

Help us get the garden ready for spring! Spring is springing and there is much to do in the garden to get things ready:  pruning, weeding, planting, digging.

Between recovering back injuries and other challenges, we are finding that it's more than we can manage on our own.  We have the tools, just need some willing hands and able bodies.

Bring the family and spend some time in nature helping to make things grow!

All ages and abilities welcome

Queer Kitchen

Saturdays once/month
3pm-7pm
$60 /person

Group cooking lesson & social event for 2SLGBTQ+ folks looking to connect with community.

Chef Dave will guide us to prep & cook a full-course meal together, with fresh homemade ingredients. We will then hang out and vibe while enjoying the yummy food that we made.

Mar 22 - Apr 26 - May 24 - Jun 28

Work 2 Learn Program

Work 2 Learn

A life skills program for neurodivergent teens & young adults.

Fridays: 10am-12pm
$40/hour

Does your teen/young adult have issues with large groups, high stress or expectations, strict attendance rules, sensory issues, limited stamina, or anxiety?  We get it (because ours do too) and we’d like to help.

Our goal is to provide opportunities to gain work experience and practice social skills in a supportive low-stress environment.  CDFC mentors are also neurodivergent and practice an affirming, low-demand approach.

Students will receive a stipend equal to 2 hours pay (minimum wage) for participating.

*flexible days/times available

Dates to be announced

Indigenous Book Club

Join us on our learning journey

As part of working to expand our knowledge of Indigenous history and culture, we are reading books by Indigenous authors and would love to discuss with others.   Come read with us!

Our first book is a contender for this year's Canada Reads (the great Canadian book debate):

A Two-Spirit Journey

by Ma-Nee Chacaby, with Mary Louisa Plummer

An uplifting story of resilience and self-discovery as an Ojibwa-Cree lesbian.

A Two-Spirit Journey is Ma-Nee Chacaby's extraordinary account of her life as an Ojibwa-Cree lesbian. From her early, often harrowing memories of life and abuse in a remote Ojibwa community riven by poverty and alcoholism, Chacaby's story is one of enduring and ultimately overcoming the social, economic and health legacies of colonialism.     Read more...

Peer Support Group

Gender Creative Kids

Checking to see if there is interest in a peer support group here in the North Surrey area, focused on parenting Gender Creative kids and navigating the various stages of this unique journey.

It would be a casual meetup led by parents with lived experience, maybe once/month in our CDFC Kitchen and lounge area.  A safe space to share experiences, resources and connect with each other.
